A Review on Different Solubility Enhancement Techniques of Ticagrelor

نویسندگان

چکیده

Ticagrelor is a BCS class IV drug that inhibits platelet action by reversibly binding to the P2Y12 receptor. One of major challenges faced (low solubility, low permeability) lower dissolution rate leading bioavailability. The bioavailability marketed formulation ticagrelor approximately 36%. Researchers have come up with various techniques improve II and formulations as an integral part development pharmaceutical sciences. An increase in solubility can be achieved methods such Salt formation, Complexation, Micronization, Solid Dispersion, altering pH, Co-solvency, co-crystals, polymeric micelles, etc. A highly efficacious technique converting crystalline its amorphous form. extensive literature search was conducted using databases like science direct, Taylor Francis, Springer extract relevant articles. Keywords “Ticagrelor”, “low permeability”, “P2Y12 receptor inhibitor” were used for search. Relevant articles screened referred further study. This article discusses employed ticagrelor, thus highlighting research reported. could seen when formulated nanoparticles, loaded self-micro emulsifying nano delivery system, solid dispersion, conversion into recommended approach which cases co-crystals dispersion formulation.

Advances in Solubility Enhancement Techniques

Solubility, the phenomenon of dissolution of solute in solvent to give a homogenous system, is one of the important parameters to achieve desired concentration of drug in systemic circulation for desired (anticipated) pharmacological response. The major problem encountered with formulation development of new chemical entities as well as for the generic development is low aqueous solubility. It ...

Solubility enhancement of simvastatin: a review.

Fairly soluble drugs in gastrointestinal (GI) media exhibit complete oral absorption, and thus good bioavailability. About 40% of drugs are not soluble in water in practice and therefore are slowly absorbed, which results in insufficient and uneven bioavailability and GI toxicity. Thus, most exigent phase of drug development practice particularly for oral dosage forms is the enhancement of drug...
